Floriani Embroidery Software is software from RNK Distributing. If you are a current machine embroidery enthusiast or you are considering taking up the hobby this software is a great investment. It gives you the ability to create and edit designs for the projects you dream of completing. From simple adjustments to advanced techniques use of this software guarantees that your project will be one of a kind.
Yes, I also have an agreement with Jones Sew and Vac to teach the Brother Multi-Needle machine. It is a big step up from a single needle but don't let it intimidate you if you are thinking you are ready to make the switch.
Before I purchased and learned the 10-needle all of my machines were Husqvarna machines. I started at the bare basic machine and worked my way up to the Epic 2 before I jumped to the multi needle. So if you are working in HUS I can try and help if you run into difficulty.
I am not a instructor for RNK Distributing. Nor am I an employee of Jones Sew and Vac. I learned the software completely by trial and error. Trust me when I say I can tell you many things NOT to do. Eventually, I was asked if I would teach at Jones Sew and Vac and I agreed. Jones was kind enough to sponsor me as a student for more advanced classes. I am by no means a professional at it. Nor am I qualified or certified through RNK. My classes are strictly to help my students advance or inspire me to learn something new.
Yes, Floriani software has several "add-in" programs that you can purchase to give yourself additional features. One add-in will allow you to look at a pattern and have it tell you which Floriani Thread Colors are compatible with the design. The Rainbow add in allows you to create your design with multiple color effects. Another, Floriani Total quilter will help you design the blocks for your quilt and then you can lay them out on screen to see how you would like them placed.
For Group/Public Classes please contact the Idaho Falls, Idaho location of Jones Sew and Vac. Let them know you would like to attend and where you purchased your software. If you purchased it at Jones and it is a basic class then the cost if Free. If you purchased your software somewhere else it is $20.
More advanced techniques or project specific classes are taught individually - you will need to book them on this site, Facebook, or Instagram.
Four hours a week I teach individual classes paid or free. You can sign up for these on this site or on the Facebook or Instagram App.
Subject matter that is covered in classes will also have a video of specific techniques posted to this website under student resources. These pages require you set up an account in order to access them. If you can show me a receipt from Jones Sew and Vac where you purchased your software I will allow you access for free. If you are outside the area, and/or you bought your software somewhere else, please set up your account and I will provide you the information you need to pay for the class. **PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THE AREA AND YOU DO NOT PAY THE FEE WHEN YOU SET UP THE ACCOUNT, I WILL REMOVE YOU FROM THE LIST AND BLOCK YOUR ACCESS.**
Due to the "New" classroom at Jones Sew and Vac, if there is enough interest eventually I will open the class to being a live event so you can follow along and complete the class in real time. All Classes will be in the Afternoon (typically from 1-4) Mountain Standard Time.
Frequently I am asked if I can digitize an photo or item for someone to use on their machine. The short answer is "it depends". The software has the capability to read and item and turn it into stitches rather quickly. If I can use that and then make minor tweaks to the design, I feel it is high quality and I can do it in under and hour than yes. More than an hour or so no.
This truly will depend on the design and therefore will be on a case by case basis. I will need to see the file before I can commit to taking the project on.
Baby quilts will be constructed, listed, and left unfinished until purchased. I will add four lines of text to the quilt in embroidery.
Baby Name:
Date of Birth:
Weight and Length:
From:
This information can be added to the front or the back of the quilt depending on the design.
Please contact me via email, text or phone once you have placed the order.
Typically custom items will be made only for family and friends. I will list those items under the "Custom Order" section of the store and they will be posted by name for that person to purchase.
Other than the information of a baby birth the answer is typically, no. Even if you have the design you want ready to stitch my business is not set up to do custom embroidery work. I typically have multiple projects in the works both for my personal use and for my business. I really don't have the time to take on custom work. If you are local to Idaho Falls, I have used several companies in the past that I can recommend to you.
Due to the high cost of fabric rolls (@$100 for 16 feet) I will not be printing large pieces of fabric for sale.
If you need a letter or legal size piece (Say to repair a vintage quilt where you cannot match the fabric) I will see if I can work with your photo and create a patch.
Please contact me through email and send me a picture of the fabric I will let you know if I think I can replicate it close enough for use.
Quilts will be made and posted for sale on the site. I will not be customizing these items. They will be sold as they are listed.
If I have been fortunate enough to run into a bulk purchase of an item I will list in the shop that I have "x" number that I am willing to personalize. If the items are unique or I purchased them for specific projects I won't typically customize them.
For both my embroidery and my laser work I have a "silent" partner who creates the artwork. I can't draw a stick figure if my life depended on it. So we work together to create many of the items you see. My partner draws them, I do the computer work and together we make the magic happen.
Due to the fact I am responsible for the phone, email, messages sometimes I am occupied with "life" and sometimes I just flat out forget to take the business line with me. If you call and leave a message and I fail to respond please use the contact link on any of our sites and email me. I have access to email no matter what phone I have with me, and trust me, when I am sitting in a waiting room I check email.
